Description
Now that I am putting the final touches on this project, I reflect back on the status of health care in this nation ten years ago. At that time, no new federal health care legislation was being talked about in the major news media outlets. Today, not only do we have a new federal health care law across this nation, but we have one that has withstood a United States Supreme Court challenge regarding its constitutionality. The delivery system for the nation’s health care system was broken before the existence of this health care law, and it remains so. I do understand that no massive piece of legislation is perfect when it is first passed. This book is not about politics; it is about a smart and efficient solution to a very serious problem.
I am the sum total of some of the greatest influences on my life. God my father; Jesus Christ my lord and savior; and the Holy Spirit. You have been here for me even before there was a me! My mother, who taught me how to survive and be efficient in this life. This gave me the tenacity to never quit. I love you momma! My public school primary education at Elmira Free Academy in Elmira, New York. My teachers gave me an outstanding education that served as the foundation for me to succeed academically. Go Blue Devils! My undergraduate alma mater, Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and in particular Doctor Ewaugh Fields. Doctor Fields was my mathematics professor who truly taught me how to synthesize data and information. This was indispensable as I made the transition from majoring in mathematics and statistics to biology in my quest for medical school. Go Dragons! The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and the United States Army. The staff and facility of these institutions taught me how to survive as a soldier and provide the highest quality of health care to the soldiers and their family members placed in my charge. Hoo Rahh!
